New Week, New Book (3/12/18)

Hosted by The Book Date

Happy Monday, everyone! Since I had travel planned for the weekend, and a big race yesterday, I scheduled a day off from work today and I'm hopeful I'll be able to do some reading. I'll post a full race recap later this week so, until then, here's what I've been reading over the past week.

In last week's recap, I mentioned that I was feeling rather indecisive about my next read; I chose The Flight Attendant by Chris Bohjalian, an author I have enjoyed in the past, and I have a full review scheduled to publish tomorrow.

A few months ago, I received an email from Simon & Schuster about one of their upcoming releases, Laura & Emma by Kate Greathead, and the comparison to Gilmore Girls and Ladybird sounded intriguing; I decided to give it a try, and I'm so glad I did! My review of Laura & Emma will also be up this week.

Thanks to this review from Susie at Novel Visits, and seeing it pop up on so many recommendation lists, I decided to listen to Educated by Tara Westover. I figured if I started it fairly early in the week I would know whether it would be something interesting to listen to during my road trip over the weekend and...wow.

Over the weekend I started reading Sometimes I Lie, a debut psychological thriller by Alice Feeney; I know, I know...why am I still trying to find great psychological thrillers?! Well, Ann Marie at Lit Wine Dine has already said that it was a wild and crazy read and it's averaging over 4 stars on Goodreads so, why not?

Up next, there are still several March releases that I'm very excited to read: the new Anne Quindlen, The Italian Party and The Gunners are high on my list!

I hope you all have a great start to the week!
How was your weekend? What are you reading?
