New Week, New Book (2/5/18)

Hosted by The Book Date

It's the first Monday of February and this will be a quick update; I spent my weekend enjoying some of my favorite things - running, reading, football, Justin Timberlake - and did not dedicate time to much else! I hope you all had a great weekend, as well.

Last week, I finished The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah; I've got a full review of this one scheduled for tomorrow, for those of you who may be interested.

In addition, I finished listening to American Radical and it was definitely worth the time; what an interesting, explosive account and I'm so thankful that Susie at Novel Visits recommended this one!

I had no idea how quickly I would fly through it, but I also managed to finish An American Marriage this weekend, just in time to head out for a Super Bowl party...wow. I will definitely share more thoughts on this one, likely later this week. I can't stop thinking about it.

Having said that, I have moved on to what will surely be an emotionally powerful memoir; I have been looking forward to The Line Becomes A River for several months and I think it is going to exceed my expectations.

On the audiobook front, both David Giffels, author of Furnishing Eternity, and Amy Alkon, author of Unf*ckology, will be presenting at this year's Arkansas Literary Festival; I am gearing up for what will likely be an exciting schedule of authors and these two selections have been downloaded! I have already started listening to Unf*ckology and will likely alternate between these two this week.

Up next? I may need something fun after finishing my current read; I'm really looking forward to Sophie Kinsella's upcoming release, Surprise Me,  and this seems like a nice Valentine's Day treat before jumping into Brass

How was your weekend? Did you watch any of the Super Bowl? What are you reading?
