May 2018 Miles & Pages
Here is a compilation of all of my running and reading shenanigans for the month of May; I've linked to book reviews and race recaps when applicable!
Running (and then some):
Varina by Charles Frazier - The narration is AMAZING; this novel is read by actress Molly Parker (House Majority Whip Jacqueline Sharp on House of Cards) and she makes it so easy to listen to and stay engaged! For those of you who enjoy historical fiction, don't miss this one.
Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren - For those times when you don't want to have to think too hard or pay too much attention, this is a great audio choice and it will certainly keep you entertained; a thoughtful romance with great characters and a medical setting for the win!
The Perfect Mother by Aimee Molloy - Another narration win, I loved the way narrator Cristin Milioti created voices for each of the characters that kept me from getting confused during this crazy mystery!
I use Scribd and my local library to access audio titles; you can use this link to receive two free months on Scribd!
Marrow Island by Alexis M. Smith - Recommended to me by my friend Sarah, this is a backlist page-turner that turned out to be a part post-apocalyptic, part mystery, part drama that I read very quickly! At under 250 pages, and set in the Pacific Northwest, this is a great one to read over a weekend.
The Ever After by Sarah Pekkanen - mini review to come; publishes June 5.
When Life Gives You Lululemons by Lauren Weisberger - mini review to come; publishes June 5.
Thank you to the following publishers for gifting me with copies of the books listed: Scribner (The Mars Room); Simon & Schuster (The Favorite Sister and When Life Gives You Lululemons); Doubleday (The Glitch); St. Martin's Press (How to Walk Away); Riverhead (The Ensemble); and Atria (The Ever After).
